Display signatures in the document - signature, identification data, footer, date, place, etc.

Modified on Tue, 11 Jun at 3:40 PM

Simplifying the preparation and signing of documents can be done, for example, by having only the content of the document and having Signi insert the signatory and signing information into the document.

For each signer, Signi can insert not only the signature, but also other information about the signer into the document - his or her name, surname, organization or position in the company (and in the future, the authority with which he or she is currently signing), as well as the place and date of signature.

2 extremes to work with document content and signatory and signing data

How to set up the display of signatory data

If you are signing files and you only want the signature to be displayed on the Signi document:

  • Do not check Show organization name, last name and position in Workspace Settings.

If you are signing files and want to have other information displayed on the document below the Signi signature:

  • check Show first and last name in Workspace Settings (if not, the footers entered below will not be displayed either),

  • don't check Show organizations and positions in Workspace Settings, their impact does not yet meet most users' needs,

  • fill in the Footer Text for proposers in the Team Member edit workspace,

  • fill in the Footer Text for counterparties in the Contacts edit.

Where the signatory's details are taken from in the signature field.

What can be in the footer

Managing director, proxy, etc.

Financial advisor according to .... or Financial advisor responsible for subordinate financial advisors according to...

Signed in proxy under a power of attorney under X.Y.Z - for situations where there are 4 parties and only 1 is signing, who has power of attorney for the act from the other 3. The power of attorney is of course also signed via Signi.

How to set up the display of signing data

The display or hiding of signature data in the signature field e.g. "In Prague on 8.2.2023" can be set as the default state for the whole workspace.

In the meantime, Signi staff need to set this for the workspace as part of the onboarding process or it can be requested at [email protected].

Alternatively, this can be selected individually for one signer and one document on the signing data display icon (calendar with clock).

Where else can you influence the appearance of the signature field

There is one more place where you can influence the appearance of the signature field when placing signatures in the document.

How to control the display of signatures via Signi API

If we want to display the first and last name or signature footer under a signature via Signi API , see Advanced Signi API Call Examples > Displaying Signatures in a Document.

If you use templates in Signi

  • Only the signature and the signing details are displayed correctly for now, i.e. "In Prague on"

  • Checking Show organization name, last name and position in Workspace Settings has no effect..

  • If you want to have other details under the signatures, suggest them as template parameters.
